Account-Level Virtual Background

To enable virtual backgrounds for all users in your account:

  1. Log in to the Zoom web portal as an administrator with edit account settings.
  2. In the navigation menu, go to  Account Management and then  Account Settings.
  3. Go to the Meetings tab, click the  Virtual Background option (under the In Meeting (Advanced) section) and make sure the setting is enabled.
    Note : If the setting is disabled, click the toggle to enable it. When a confirmation dialog box appears, choose Next. Confirm the on  change.
  4. (Optional) To make this setting mandatory for all users in your account, click the lock icon and then view the lock setting.
  5. (Optional) Confirm  Allow use of video for virtual background Wish  Then   Confirm changes and grant user access to video virtual background.
  6. (Optional) OK  Allow users to upload custom backgrounds  Wish Then   Confirm changes and give users access to upload their own virtual backgrounds in addition to the currently uploaded ones.
  7. (Optional) Click  Manage Virtual Backgrounds to upload a default background image that users can use.
    Note: The client/app version must be 5.1.1 or higher to view the uploaded background image.
  8. (Optional) Confirm  Require users to always use virtual backgrounds  Then confirm the wish to change.
  9. (Optional) OK  Reset the user’s virtual background to default after each meeting Resets the administrator-selected virtual background for the user after Zoom meetings. If the user changes the pre-approved virtual background for a specific meeting, that background is automatically reset back to default after the meeting.

Enable virtual backgrounds for users

To activate the virtual background, your  own function:

  1. Log in to the Zoom web portal.
  2. Settings in the navigation menu.
  3. Go to the Meetings tab, click the  Virtual Background option (under the In Meeting (Advanced) section), and make sure the setting is enabled.
    Notes :

    • If the setting is disabled, click the Status toggle to enable it. When a confirmation dialog box appears, choose Next. Confirm the on change.
    • If the option is grayed out, it is locked at the group or account level and you will need to contact your Zoom administrator.

Change the virtual background on your desktop

  1. Log in to the  Zoom desktop client.
  2. Click on your profile picture and then  settings .

    PLEASE NOTE: If you do not have one, click the Virtual Background tab and log out and log back into the Zoom desktop client if you have enabled it on the web portal.
  4. There is a check green screen if a  physical green screen is enabled. Then you can click the video to choose the right color for your green screen.
  5. Select the desired virtual background by clicking on the image or video.
  6. (options)  Choose whether to upload an image or video. 
    When prompted,  download the package for the virtual background without the download green screen.
